Guide for pharmacies in Egypt

How to Choose a Pharmacy POS System

A suitable pharmacy POS finishes the sale quickly without ignoring expiry and the customer.

Choosing a pharmacy POS is not choosing how the screen looks. It is whether the sale takes the right batch, and whether checkout continues when the line is weak.

  1. If the internet drops, do sales and stock continue on the computer?
  2. Does it pick the nearest expiry, or any quantity?
  3. Does the customer’s balance and points show during the sale?
  4. Can a second cashier or a phone share the same stock on the pharmacy network?
  5. Can the tax receipt leave from the same invoice, including an end-of-day option?
  6. What does the price include: installation, cashier count, and a phone?

PharmaSync sells on Windows from the main computer. An extra cashier joins the pharmacy Wi-Fi. A phone becomes a POS by scanning a QR on the same network, and the order lands as pending on the computer. The plan includes two cashier apps. Each licensed phone is 1,000 EGP per year. Customer rank, loyalty, and balance show during the order. E-invoicing is optional: after each order, or held for the end of the day so the sale does not stop.

Is a pharmacy POS any shop register?

No. A shop register closes the sale. A pharmacy also needs expiry, batch, alternatives, and repeat customers.
