Closing the pharmacy for a one-day full count is expensive. Most differences sit in a few items. Start with the question: is the gap one product, or the whole shelf?
- A difference in one item or a small group: stock reconciliation, not a full count
- A review through the week: a periodic count, a small group at a time
- The whole store: a full count, which can be suspended and resumed
In PharmaSync, Auto Generate fills the list from all stores or selected stores, for all products, a starting letter, or a pharmaceutical form. Order by most expensive, most sold in the last 30 days, or alphabet. On a periodic count you set how many products per group, such as 10 or 20, and the employee sees only that group.
Scan a barcode to jump to a row. If the quantity differs, enter what is actually there, the expiry, and a reason. Hide the system quantity from the person counting. The report permission shows system quantity, the difference, and the financial impact. If they can see it, they can type the same number without looking at the shelf. Leave that permission with the supervisor. An active shift is required.
